Manitoba’s Keystone Centre presents the 10th Anniversary of Horse3 in their Westoba Ag Centre, Brandon, on April 14 to 16, 2017.

Horse3 celebrates the power and wonder of the horse-human relationship through its weekend of equine-guided education and entertainment.

A multitude of equine disciplines will be showcased, in addition to clinics, demonstrations, entertainment, and the opportunity to Ride-with-the-Experts. Bring your shopping list to the Trade Show and check out the wide selection of products and services under one roof.

The NAERIC Trainer’s Challenge Colt Starting competition is the highlight of the event, and this year’s competitors will be Renee Gareau, Rod Olsen and Cain Quam.

Rod Olsen of Leavitt, Alberta, has been training horses for 40 years. Following in the ways of Ray Hunt and Tom Dorrance, Olsen learned that when working with horses, respect, patience, and a gentle hand go a long way in developing a trusting, confident and willing partner. Olsen has developed a training program that is based on helping horses and riders reach their greatest potential. He enjoys sharing his knowledge and expertise through clinics and one-on-one training sessions.

Renee Gareau of Millet, Alberta, started training horses at a young age and bought her first horse, a two-year-old green broke Quarter Horse, at age 10. She progressed through 4-H, gained knowledge and experience, and after high school achieved a diploma in Equine Science Western Horsemanship at Olds College. She has spent many years exercising horses, starting colts, and building her experience and reputation. In the spring of 2012, Gareau was offered the opportunity to become the main trainer at a new facility in Camrose, AB.

He has found success in all areas of the horse world, and his skills have been showcased in events across Canada. Quam consistently demonstrates his patience, understanding, and connection with the horse – and with people. He strongly believes in education and supporting people through their journey with horses.
