New Brunswick Equestrian Association (NBEA) Letter of Response to COVID-19

Dear NBEA Member, 

Following the most recent information provided by the Province of New Brunswick, and in consultation with Equestrian Canada, the NBEA is taking the following actions in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic:

All NBEA-related activities and events are suspended, effective Monday March 16 - April 19, 2020 (the end date is subject to change). 

This includes, but is not limited to, the NBEA in-person Steward Clinic and the NCCP Coach Preparation Clinic slated for March 21 - 22.

The Eventing Long Term Equestrian Development (LTED) Dressage Training Clinic, scheduled for April 18 - 19, is postponed. The situation will be monitored and the clinic will be rescheduled when/if possible. All Eventing LTED participants will be contacted directly regarding changes to the LTED spring schedule.  

Mail will not be available to us until the provincial government reopens our office location. Membership renewals are available online or by emailing your membership application to nbeaeditor@gmail.com .

Further recommended actions: 

• The NBEA strongly recommends that riding establishments and clubs suspend all activities and gatherings until April 6, at the very least.
• The NBEA strongly recommends that riding establishments and coaches confirm with their respective insurance companies to ensure compliance if you continue to offer programs and services during this period.   

The NBEA, with guidance from the Government of New Brunswick, will continue to monitor the situation and update our position as new information becomes available.

Please follow the advice being issued by the Government of New Brunswick, and become aware of the resources available for good information (see below). Observe hand washing and other hygiene measures; practice social distancing, even at stables; and avoid unnecessary gatherings or proximity to others, such as meetings, parties, and group activities.

The health and safety of our members is our top priority. We are grateful for the patience and support of horse people across the province as we work together to “flatten the curve.” Stay safe!
